What is the meaning of Immigration Law? 

The Immigration Law is the set of rules that regulate the rights and obligations of persons who are in another State or country that is not their own. It is the law applicable to persons who do not have Spanish nationality and who intend to enter, remain or establish their permanent domicile in Spain, not only to reside, but often also to work for others or set up their own business. 

The Immigration Law finds its maximum significance within the fact that a foreigner does not have the right to enter the country of his choice, but it is the State that regulates the entry and exit of tourists, the requirements for obtaining or denying a residence and/or work permit for foreigners who wish to stay legally for a long period of time, or the relations of foreign citizens with the State, such as the obtaining of Spanish nationality. These are all matters that can be regulated by the Immigration Law.

As you can see, the Immigration Law revolves around the concept of foreigner or individual who is not a Spanish national, without prejudice to the provisions of the International Treaties to which Spain is a member. Having said this, it is necessary to point out the differences in the rights of entry and exit, free circulation, stay, residence, permanent residence and work in Spain for the citizens of the European Union.
